Urban Session Part 2
So like I already told you, this was a couple of kids who had known each other since they were babies. Their moms are
friends and I think they went to daycare together - you know how that is! Anyway, they wanted some pictures of the two
of them together as teenagers, which is really great because they brought their baby pictures along to show me. LOVE
THAT!!!!!!!

This last one is one of my favorites of the day. Probably because of the old trash can and junky brick wall.
:)
Coming up next - Part 3! And in the next few days I'll be posting a sneak-peek at this year's Christmas
card selection. Of course, if you're signed up for my newsletter you've already seen them! If you're not, then
you definitely need to scroll back up and enter in your email address. My newsletter friends will get first dibs on
the Holiday Mini Sessions coming up in the next few months! :)
Have a great weekend everyone!

Super fun Urban session in downtown Midlothian
This is the first of a three-part blog entry from a session I did a week ago. Two teenagers, who had known each other
since they were just babies, came and had their pictures taken, both together and separate. We had a lot of fun, even
though C won't admit it. :) Which is why I'll show him first!!!!

I love shooting sessions in gritty, dirty locations. It may seem kind of bland and boring at first, but
those colors and textures come ALIVE when they are photographed. I'd love to shoot in a junkyard someday!

Back to School Shoot
After we "met the teacher" last night I dragged the kid downtown to do some scouting for an upcoming shoot, and
also coerced him into doing a little shoot for me. By "coerced" I mean that I promised him it wouldn't
take very long and that I would take him to Sonic afterward. lol I think I've mentioned it before that
I'm ALL ABOUT BRIBES.

I don't really know how he does this without falling over. I guess it's because I'm not 9 and can't do it
AT ALL.

And I think this is my new favorite picture of him, even though it makes him look about 14 (which I'm completely
unprepared for). I love love LOVE this picture!
I give my mom about 10 minutes before she sees this and calls
me to ask for prints. YES MOM!! I know it's your birthday Sunday! lol
**NOTE ABOUT ONLINE BOOKING:
If you've tried to use the online booking for the last few days and thought I was booked through September, NOT TRUE!!!
It's just that
someone apparently didn't understand the instructions when she tried to update the calendar.
OOPS!!

The Mayfield Family
This family braved a million mosquitos to shoot a session last weekend at Northwood University in Cedar Hill. It was
a new location for me but it was a lot of fun - despite the previously-mentioned mosquitos and over-zealous security guards.
lol

These are pillowcase dresses with embroidered hems. So pretty. I love the way the girls look barefoot
in the trees and rocks.

Never hurts to bribe with flowers. :)

Aren't their outfits cute?! The one on the left is a one-piece dress, and the one on the right is a skirt,
blouse, and vest. So PERFECT!!! Unfortunately neither picture shows off their MATCHING SHOES!!! Yes, you
read correctly. MATCHING SHOES!!!! I love details like that!!!

And unfortunately another pair of great shoes you can't see. And monogrammed dresses!!! Seriously
cute!
Have I mentioned how much I love my job?! :) Hope everyone is having a great week. School
starts Monday!!

Miss M
This shoot was SO MUCH FUN!!!! But, of course, how could it NOT be?! LOOK at her?! The boys in Midlothian
are in so much trouble. :)

We shot this around my house, which was just a random idea of mine that turned out really well.
And I think we both stayed chigger/poison ivy-free, which was definitely a bonus.
It's not too late if you
received a coupon earlier this summer and want to use it before the August 31st deadline. I'm getting booked up for
the rest of the month but there are a few spots still available!! Call me and we'll figure something out.
**Sorry
for the pixelated photos!!! It's a blog issue I'm working on. I'm planning on a blog upgrade soon which should
fix this issue, plus add a comments section.

August Coupon

This is the last coupon of the year, so if you've been procrastinating getting those family pictures made now's
the time. It's also not too early to be thinking of Senior Portraits and Christmas pictures! I'm hard at
work on this year's holiday cards, so be on the lookout for those in the next month or so.
