Valentine's Preview
My little guy and I are working on a special project for his Valentine's cards this year.  He loves the little promo bookmarks I did for KPP, so we came up with a plan to give all his friends bookmarks this year for their Valentine's "card".

Can you tell those are conversation hearts on the deck?

When I was a kid I LOVED Valentine's Day because it meant that we got to decorate a box to put all our Valentines in.  That was definitely my favorite part.  I remember one box I made that was covered in red and white felt with lots of hearts.  I wish I still had it.  :(  But kids these days apparently don't do that anymore.  They decorate bags.  White paper bags.  How boring is that?!  We worked on our boxes for WEEKS (or at least I did) - but now they just do it in an hour or so.

*sigh*  I miss the olden days!  lol

2 Quick Things:
1.  I've got a Facebook page for KPP!!  Add me as a friend!  And if you haven't signed up yet (and maybe think it's a little silly), you really should!  I've reconnected with so many people.  It's been a ton of fun, and it's a great way to share photos.

2.  I'm definitely doing another round of mini-sessions in Texas over Spring Break (March 15-21).  More information will be coming really soon, but if you know of anyone who is interested have them get in touch with me ASAP because I've already had a few inquiries - and the number I'm doing is very limited.

Hope everyone stays warm tonight (and for the next couple of days).  I wish we'd get a good snow day but that almost never happens in Alabama.  :(

More from '08

This is actually my brother and his family.  And if you think it's easier shooting kids who KNOW you - think again.  When they know you they don't CARE anymore.  They've had you take their picture 1000 times already and they're totally over it.  Which just makes it more of a challenge, right?!

The best part of taking pictures of family members though?  Getting to pay them back for all the times they harassed you!!  I loved making my brother suffer through every single stinkin' bit of this picture-taking business.  :)  Isn't his family super-cute though?!

Second Verse, Same as the First
AACK!  The internets "lost" my whole first post, so I'm rewriting it.  It's never the same the second time.  :(

Anyway!!!!  HAPPY FRIDAY!!!!

I was going to show more 2008 sessions that I haven't blogged yet, but unfortunately I left my handy-dandy little zip drive stuck in a computer at my brother's office.  So my sister-in-law is sending it to me.  USPS needs to hurry!!

So this means that y'all get to see family Christmas pictures instead!  YAY!

This is my niece.  Don't let the cute fool you.  She was, at that very moment, trying to con my step-mother into playing princesses (or something similar) with her.  She's a princess FANATIC.

My nephew trying to see how many presents are his.  Please.  Don't act like YOU didn't do this too a few weeks ago!!  :)  I'm not above shaking gifts too!

This is my very own pretty, pretty princess.  Yes, mom, I know he needs a haircut.  lol  If he at least WASHED it from time to time it would help.  What IS IT about boys his age and bathing with actual soap and shampoo?  YUCK!

IMG_7588.jpg

This was some sort of smack-down between my brother, the pretty pretty princess, and the present peeker.  Although it APPEARS as if my brother is winning, his shoe laces were actually tied together by this point.  Also?  He's beating the little heathens with a cloth Indiana Jones whip.  Yeah.  Not really all that fierce is it?!   I'm pretty certain he probably was not feeling so hot the next morning either.  Let's just say my brother has neck "issues".  If the heathens were better at their "heathen-ness" they would have capitalized upon this weakness.  My brother got lucky.  :)

Okay, now for a little Q&A about the Referral Program.  I talked about it a little in the last post, but I want to give it a little more coverage.  I'll also have this permanently posted in the "Prices" section soon.

Q:  How does this work again?
A:  Each time you refer a new client who books AND PAYS FOR a session, you get a referral credit.  ALL types of sessions are included either, so you get a credit whether it's a regular session or a mini-session.

Q:  So what do these referral credits get me anyway?
A:  5 new referrals gets you either a free session, OR a 5x5 Album.  And you don't HAVE to use them as soon as you get them.  You can save up 10 to get a free session WITH a 5x5 album.  Remember though, that the free session DOES NOT come with a print credit.

Q:  When can I start accumulating referrals, and how long do they last?
A:  Referrals start January 1, 2009, so anything prior to that doesn't count.  And they never expire, so if it takes 5 years then it takes 5 years.  You earn 'em, you keep 'em!

Q:  I don't need more portraits right now, so what should I do?
A:  First of all, you ALWAYS need more portraits!!!  If you still think you don't though, just hang on to your session credit.  It won't ever expire.  OR, you can gift the session/album to a friend.

Q:  How do I get credit for my referral?
A:  The person you referred must tell me who referred them WHEN THEY BOOK THEIR SESSION.  If they forget until I'm actually taking their pictures it's too late.  I'll keep all the referrals on file, and when you get to 5 I'll send you a gift certificate of some sort.  Easy, right?!

Hmmm.......I can't think of anymore questions right now.  So if you have some ask!!  I'll add them to this Q&A (plus, the pretty pretty princess is DESPERATE for some help with his Legos so I really need to wrap this up).  lol

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!!!

Is it REALLY 2009 already?!
Wow!  I can't believe we're already 6 days into the new year - it honestly seems like yesterday school was starting!  I'm really excited about this year though because I've got some really amazing things planned for KPP.  Things are probably going to start looking a little different around here.  Website changes, for one.  And pricing changes too!  I'm not raising prices though - more like pricing additions, I guess.

I've already learned that I definitely DO NOT want to sell you guys products that I'm not completely in love with.  It's just not fun, plus, I feel like if I don't love it then it's not worth buying.  Luckily, I've found two products that I'm absolutely LOVING right now.  A 5x5 album that will hold 20 of your favorite prints from a session, and a 5x7 keepsake box that you'll be able to add to over the years (it holds somewhere around 150 prints!!)  Unfortunately, I don't have samples to show you right now - but I will!  So keep checking back!

And because of these new additions, I'm also creating packages to go along with them, so that you can get a discount for buying the album or box before the shoot.  EVEN BETTER (!!) is that I'm incorporating the album into my referral program.

Wait.  WHAT??!!  A referral program?!  Oh, that's right, I haven't mentioned that yet!  :)  Basically it's this:  refer 5 new clients, and when they book and pay for a shoot, you'll be eligible to either get a free sitting (no print credit on this one, sorry!) OR a 5x5 album.

I'm also planning on several mini-sessions this year.  One around Spring Break, and another sometime in November.  And yes, I'll most likely be for Bham AND Texas.  So stay tuned for more info about those.

So yeah, can you tell I'm a little excited?  There are big changes for KPP this coming year - I can feel it!
